November Gratitude

Posted byLori Posted onNovember 2, 2010 Comments12

It’s November! November means my birthday is now 11 days away (13th- woo woo!). November means Thanksgiving is just a few short weeks away. Thanksgiving signifies gratefulness. Kate from for the love of breakfast is running a little thing she is calling, November Gratitude Nuggets, where each day in November she will post one thing she is grateful for. I like it.

November 1st Gratitude: The Giants won the World Series!!!!! (I live near San Francisco, they are my team!)

November 2nd Gratitude: Great friends with amazing recipes that I will be trying out tonight.

Other things I am grateful for at this moment is being able to make and eat amazing dishes, full of flavor and creativity. And help with making these dishes.

Spicy Cajon Marinated Shrimp
GIANT Spiced Bison Meatballs
Beautiful Mixed Greens
Creamy Blended Raw Cesar Dressing (from Natalie Rose's Raw Detox book)

Roasted Cajon Japanese Sweet Potato Fries (pictured pre-baked)

Plated to Perfection

And SMOTHERED with unpictured dijon mustard and ketchup (I know... the chef wasn't exactly thrilled. πŸ˜‰ )

This meal was enjoyed with a loved one (hi bf!), Jack the Pumpkin King, and the Giants winning the World Series. Life, at those moments, couldn’t get much better. And for that I am grateful. πŸ™‚

What recipe will you be trying out soon that you have been neglecting to try?

Want to play the Gratitude Game? What are you grateful for at this moment?

  1. Ah what a sweet post! Those meatballs look amazing! I must look into where to find bison meat around here.

My mojo is coming back! Cookies soon – I promise πŸ™‚

Anywho, old recipes weren’t inspiring me, but two days ago the menu ideas started flying from new recipes. I will be trying out a new pizza dough with homemade sausage and crispy spinach tonight, and chicken in a miso peanut sauce later this week. Last night was a throw together red curry that worked out well. I’m happy to be having fun in the kitchen again! Oh, I guess that is what I’m grateful for πŸ™‚

Love the November gratitude idea! I’ll probably incorporate that, although I’m not sure how much time I’ll have for blogging while we’re over here.

Thanks for the question about all my traveling – I need to think about it, and will try to answer in my next blog post.

  7. SO grateful for this trip around the Southwest … and I cannot WAIT to get home and make myself a massaged kale salad. I keep seeing them in restaurants, but get distracted by the stuff on the menu I can’t make at home πŸ™‚ It’s easy to forget about gratitude, even in the middle of “Thanks-Giving” month. Thanks for the happy reminder.
