Juicing Day One

The Foodbuzz Herb-Inspired Dinner Party is over. The Disneyland Adventure is over- but I am still working on a short video from my time there. Halloween is over. And today is my Monday, right smack dab back in reality.

And I woke up this morning sick.

What?!

My plan for this week is to juice!

No, no steroids or other “juicing” agents. I’m talking 100% raw, loving, thriving, energizing, healing, hydrating, plant juice.

It’s been quite a while since I’ve been juicing regularly and today is November 1st. Each month I get Cafe Gratitude’s email newsletter which hosts a Juice Feast/Fast on the first seven days of each new month. Today marks day one and I feel like my waking up sick is telling me that maybe this is a good idea. Even if it’s just for one day.

So we’ll see how it goes and see how far I get, but today is Juicing Day One!

My plan for the “juice fast” is to do only liquids. I’m not going to take away fats, proteins, or anything else like that- only blend them. I’m going to be consuming all veggies, fruits, and minimal proteins. If fats sneak into my morning blended green smoothie, so be it. 😉

It is my experience that when I have done similar cleanses in the past my body really speaks to me. Or at least gives me clues as to what I should eat and when I should eat. I try and step out of the path of my loudly yelling craving body. The one that wants what it wants when it wants it. Like almond butter or vegan chocolate chips? Ug! (but so good!)

When we truly listen to our bodies we can be healed, rejuvenated, and energized, and maybe even let our minds relax some. I’ll be trying to do this as much as possible, letting my mind relax and letting my body speak to what it wants. I’m going to be slowing my life down this week, paying attention to my breathe, I’ll stretch, rest, walk, and fill my body with nourishing, living foods.

I did mostly juice (with my other meals consisting of only veggies and fruits) for the better part of a week a couple weeks ago and it was awesome! I have a feeling after Foodbuzz I might need to do it again! 😉

I am starting one today too – (except I did have cashews. a lot of cashews).

i keep telling myself I want to juice but I need a juicer. Maybe when we get back from New Zealand.
