Hello, hello!

The post yesterday, posted on 5 days into the program was written WAY long ago but never posted. Today marks 3.5 weeks into training/nutrition/the program and I’m still going strong!

Much has changed in these last three weeks, including my body, attitude, and energy levels.

Week one and most of week two I felt very off. I had no energy, foggy memory, was a pretty big bi… um… mean person, and was craving CARBS like no other.

Where I stand with week three now, I have tons of energy(!!), feel amazing, I’m definitely slimmer, look WAY more toned, and just happy overall.

My body definitely has adjusted to the slap-in-the-face approach we took starting on Day ONE pretty quickly. I have had a few times where friends have had to “talk me off a ledge” with skipping a cardio session or eating a carb- but I haven’t cheated, I haven’t swayed, and I’m feeling great.

Upon day one, my new trainer evaluated my body, lifestyle, exercise past, nutrition past, and a whole lot of other things to come up with the “fast track” plan for me (as per my request):

*Double days of cardio for 2 weeks (40 min morning, 40 min night)

*5 Days Lifting

*Eat every 2-2.5 hours consisting of…

    • 6 oz protein
    • salmon once a day
    • zero carbs (only 1 cup berries per day)
    • lots of water
    • lots of non-starchy veggies
    • 1 tsp olive oil at first 3 meals

*No salt (never knew how much salt helps with FLAVOR)

*No diary (black coffee, baby! I miss my creamer….)

That’s pretty much the short version and I have a few supplements that I’m taking to ramp up recovery, lifting, etc.

That’s the quick info on the next few months…

More details soon on what body parts I’m focusing on, workout routines(!), changes in diet (if any), and before and AFTER photos- progress is showing!!!

Happy Friday, everyone!

Tell me a challenge you’ve faced in the last few months- personal, professional, anything! I need some inspiration from you guys!

  1. Hi Lori,
I am so impressed your results. I was just wondering what you did for cardio after the two weeks of double cardio. And What type of cardio did you do?

    Thanks,
    julie

  2. Hi Lori! Did you ever figure out how to eat your chicken so you enjoyed it? Also, in one of your later posts, you mention that you do (did) “cardio” 40 minutes, 2x/day. What cardio exactly did you do?

By the way, I am over-the-top impressed with your results. Holy moly girl!!! That’s commitment to the max. Congrats~

  3. I stumbled on to your blog on my Facebook somehow. WOW I am super excited to see all the great recipes and fitness tips. I love running but I struggle with diet and lifting.

  4. THE ONLY part of your life that would be hard for me is the NO SALT thing. I am a HUGE salt person, without it, I would die. Actually, yes, yes I would because I have very low blood pressure. lol!

  5. This idea has been bouncing back and forth in my mind for a few weeks. I don’t think I actually want to ever compete – but I’m thinking of looking into the training/nutrition for a bikini competition just to get rid of these last 20 pounds and really get lean. I’m looking forward to reading about your progress!! 🙂

    1. Hi Jess, you should definitely think about doing the training and nutrition part (and then love it so much you’ll end up wanting to compete!). If you have been thinking about it and it interests you, I say why not?! I’ve only had a trainer a few times but this time, with a “goal” in mind, it’s made it much easier to get all of the benefits out of having a coach/trainer.

Let me know if you have any questions! I’d be happy to answer any.

Looking forward to hearing/seeing your bikini body progress – maybe if you imagine your chicken to be anything but chicken by using different words for it you will survive. The Japanese supposedly have around 15 different words for chicken! Ha ha

  7. Hey Lori! We need to catch up soon! My best friend did bikini competitions for 3 years and started on a diet and exercise plan that sounds just like the one you described. She also saw results quick, but every time she began a new cycle for competition, it got harder to see results as her body started fighting back against the routine. I can give you her contact info if you want to pick her brain!

    1. YES PLEASE!!! I’ve definitely thought about that and have been worried as I’ve heard some horror stories. But I think it’s all moderation and really WATCHING what you’re doing (or so I’m hoping!!!)…. that said, I’d love to pick her brain and just hear about her time spent doing these! Thank you!

      Text me! I miss you!!!
